Where To Stay?

Lourdes Camp

We’ve rented out the entire camp for the weekend, so everyone is welcome (and encouraged) to stay with us at the venue! Our goal is to make the weekend as fun and easy as possible for all of our friends and family. Staying on site means that you won’t have to worry about post-party driving arrangements or paying for lodging! Furthermore you’ll get to enjoy all of the lakeside activities that the camp has to offer.

  • Sleeping Arrangements: Lourdes Camp operates as an overnight camp for kids during the summer months and the accommodations reflect that. Each cozy cabin can accommodate your whole family with single, bunk style beds. You will need to bring your own linens or sleeping bag and pillow (if you are flying, please let us know and we will try our best to make arrangements for you). Most cabins have one outlet for charging devices. If you are a hardcore camper, you can bring and pitch your own tent. Also if you would like to bring your own camper, that’s perfectly acceptable too.
  • Bathrooms: The bathroom facilities include private shower stalls with hot and cold running water and are divided between Men and Women. You may want to bring that extra pair of shower flip flops along for the weekend.
  • Weather: Please be prepared for any type of weather. Since the wedding is in October in NY, prepare for cold weather at night.
  • Food and Alcohol: We are planning on enjoying camp fire pies under the stars on Friday evening (weather permitting), but if you require more than pies and water to survive, you will have to fend for yourself until the reception on Saturday. There is a full kitchen and walk-in fridge available if you would like to cook, a country store 5 minutes away or a full grocery store, liquor store and plenty of restaurants 12 miles down the road in Skaneateles.

Questions and Answers

What time is the wedding?

The wedding starts at 3pm

Can I bring a date?

If it says so on your invitation 🙂

Is this an adult only weekend?

Yes, specifically we ask that no one under the age of 12 attend.

Where should I park?

There will be parking right at the camp. Carpooling is encouraged!

Will I be able to get an Uber after the wedding?

Unfortunately the area is a bit remote, so you maybe hard pressed to find an Uber willing to travel to Lourdes Camp. If we have enough interest we may get a shuttle, however at this time a shuttle is not planned. We highly recommend staying with us at camp.

Will there be food at the reception?

Yes! We currently do not have a timeline for the wedding, however we will have a caterer.

Will there be food outside the reception, EX: Friday Dinner?

There are currently no plans to host meals for anyone outside of the Saturday reception. However there is a walk in refrigerator and full kitchen on site that can be used by anyone.

I have some food restrictions, will you be able to accommodate?

Yes, we’ve let our caterer know ahead of time that there will need to be some separate plates made for those with food allergies / restrictions. Please note it when RSVPing

What should I wear?

Semi-formal / Wedding attire. Bathrooms are a small walk from the reception location and there will be dancing so plan your shoes accordingly.

When can I arrive?

If you are coming on Friday, you can arrive anytime after 5pm. If you are coming Saturday, please arrive before the ceremony at 3pm

What does it cost to stay at camp?

Nothing! The cabins are covered and we are so thankful you are making the trip.

What is there to do outside of the camp?

You are in the finger lakes region, so there are a ton of wineries and breweries outside of the camp. Nearby is Carpenter Falls. You are about 1 hour and a half from the corning museum of glass and Watkins Glenn park. Lourdes camp is about 45 minutes away from Syracuse which includes Destiny USA (big mall with movie theater, Go karts, Dave and Busters, and other attractions).

What are the sleeping arrangements?

While Lourdes Camp is beautiful, it is still a rustic summer camp. Cabins feature twin bunk beds and sleep anywhere from 10 – 20 people each. If you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own tent and set up for the weekend.

What happens if I request a cabin?

Cabins are first come first serve. We will give preference to out of town guests. We will let you know what cabin you were assigned before the wedding. There will be someone either Friday or Saturday to direct you to the correct one.

Are there bathrooms and showers?

Yes. There are communal bathrooms with hot and cold running water for showers. The bathrooms are separate buildings and will be a small walk from your cabin. We also expect to have porta potties near the boathouse.

Is there electricity?

There are lights and outlets scattered around the camp and in each cabin. Cell coverage is pretty spotty but there is wifi available at the camp.

OK, I’m in. What do I need to bring?

  • Pillow and blanket or a sleeping bag
  • Towel
  • Soap, Shampoo, Toothbrush, and Toothpaste
  • Flip flops (if you would like them for the showers)
  • Camp chair for bon fires
  • While we are hoping for a beautiful, sunny day, Skaneateles can be cold and rainy. Please check the weather and bring whatever you need to be comfortable. Comfy shoes, sweatpants, rain jackets and umbrellas are all a safe bet, just don’t forget you’ll need to get dolled up for the wedding
